To begin with, technology changes human life in different aspects to make it easier and more comfortable. The improvement in some areas, like communication, is incredible. Thanks to the telephone and new means of transport, world distances seem to be shorter and we can communicate with people on the other side of the world just in a few seconds. Not only communication does change, but also medicine for example: scientists are working every day to find new cures for different illnesses, and with this technological advances, their work is now easier and more effective. Another example is that nowadays through the Internet, we can take courses, pay bills, and search for information. In this way technology is really helping our society...
On the other hand, the wrong uses of technology lead us to the negative consequences of it. People aren’t “living” with technology; they are just “depending” on it. This dependency is the wrong aspect, we just leave things to be done by computers, and we don’t even move our body. Another negative aspect of technology among people is that children are intellectually affected, this means that in some cases, their vocabulary is affected; they don’t read a book, they just look for information (copy-paste) or summaries on the Internet. Also their security is at risk every time they surf the Internet. Probably children don’t think about this, but when they upload any picture, or personal information on the internet, any person from any part of the world can read or see it. Frequently, we can hear on the news about new cases of “virtual kidnapping”, or thieves that have their job easier because they find information on the Internet. .
To conclude, technology is getting better every day, and people are taking advantage of it. Different aspects of human life are being investigated, to help society in different ways. We can here on the news that scientists are discovering different things every day. These new advances make human life easier, but it depends on how we use it. I am not saying technology doesn’t help us; we just have to be careful with it, and not always trust every piece of information. . So…is technology really helping us, or just giving us new problems to solve?
